Can't find what you need?
Like all web searches, the key to finding what you want; is knowing what you want to find. As with other search engines, being too specific will often return too few results.
If you need advise on where to start, or music suggestions, contact us ( or 818.985.3300) and we'll take care of you.
If you're having trouble searching, start with a musical genre by clicking the Genre pull down box and changing it from “Any genre” to one that you want to hear music from. Click “SEARCH!” and all the music in that category will show up. Often a genre will have quite a few pieces of various lengths and the search will need to be refined. Since the last search performed is always saved, you can add more parameters and refine your search easily. After finding a list of cues in a particular genre, try choosing a tempo from the Tempo pull down box. The tempo category is fairly broad, so while it will take out the slow pieces if you want something fast, there will still be a lot of music to look through. You can further refine the search by specifying a duration that you need in your project. One of the more useful ways to refine though, is with the Instruments box. Pull down the menu and choose an instrument that you want to hear as the main or driving instrument in a piece. For instance, if you want to hear a solo cello piece, pull down Strings in instrumentation, then Cello in Specific. If you just want to hear strings, but not a solo instrument, leave the Specific box as any and search.
For example:
If you know you want a fast rock piece, but searching through the entire
Driving Rock
catalog is too many cues, try limiting the search by finding all the
driving rock cues that are fast, or just have guitar. You can even get more specific
and search for just clean guitar in the fast rock cues, though you will only get a few results.
Previewing
Once you find a list of cues in the style you are looking for, click on the music note icon ( ♪ ) in each row and you can preview each piece all the way through. The music player launches in a separate window, and you can come back to the main page and perform more searches or look at details of other cues while listening to another. If you want to stop the preview, switch back to the player window (Command+Tab on the Mac and Alt+Tab in Windows) and click the pause button. You can skip to various parts of the piece by clicking and dragging the position marker on the player window. Use the back and forward buttons on the lower left side to instantly jump to the beginning or the end of the piece. Also, the volume slider on the right side of the window controls how loud the preview goes to your computer's sound system. If you don't hear anything, be sure your speaker volume is turned up and that your computer's sound is correctly configured.
Downloading
You'll need to sign in or create a free account with us first, then all you need to do is either click on the down arrow ( ↓ ) in the list of music, or click the download button on the details page. Download cues and test them in your projects. Once you've picked out the music for your show, and have edited it into your project, contact us to obtain sync licenses ( or 818.985.3300).
NOTE: All tracks are encoded with digital watermarking technology.
You must secure a sync license for any tracks that you use, PRIOR to broadcast.
Details
Click the details icon ( ≡ ) on the far left to see more information about each cue, such as the main instrumentation, music genre, keyword description, composer, etc. You can preview or download from the details page as well.
